The lantern Hill Valley Alliance (LHVA), a 501(c)(3) in 2024, was founded in 1973 as a grassroots group to preserve the dams and waters of Long and Bush Ponds. These waters benefit the lakes and are the main water source for the Mystic River Watershed. The LHVA is dedicated to protecting resources vital to the unique ecosystem of Lantern Hill Valley and downstream. We tackle challenges from human and environmental pressures and focus on outreach to connect communities, students, and visitors to the lakes' waters.
